About the GT37R, GT40R, GT42R, and GT45R The Garrett GT37R, GT40R, GT42R, and GT45R represent the large-frame end of the Garrett GT-series performance lineup. These are turbos built for high-power builds — typically 500 to 1,200 or more horsepower — found in heavily modified performance cars, high-output diesel applications, supercar conversions, and motorsport builds where maximum airflow is the priority. The GT37R and GT40R are commonly chosen for builds targeting 600 to 800 horsepower on six-cylinder and diesel platforms. The GT42R and GT45R support builds over 800 horsepower with their larger compressor wheels. All four models use T4 turbine housing bolt patterns and share common oil port dimensions, which is why a single gasket set covers all four variants.
